Next year will be marked by the full restoration of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Russia. Mutual desire to establish a full-fledged partnership was expressed by Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Russia, denoting their high importance and primacy, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov attended the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of heads of states, where Ukraine was granted observer status, and held a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Full restoration of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Russia next year, according to preliminary conservative estimates, is possible to the level of turnover of 2011, equivalent to almost 55 billion USD.

"In 2014, we intend to resume our trade and economic relations with Russia and to reach a level of at least 2011. It is very important for us, because it is jobs, it is budget revenues. What presidents agreed on, we, in the government, must implement," Azarov said during a meeting with Dmitry Medvedev, which lasted over an hour.

Government experts reiterate the strategic importance of the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Russia. Reconstruction of partnership programs in aviation, machine building, aerospace and other industries, which stood frozen in anticipation of warming in Russian-Ukrainian relations, will guarantee a positive outlook for their development.

Russian government representatives also speak of this. "We really need to revive much of what, unfortunately, has recently been wasted in the Russian-Ukrainian relations. Just one point is no reason to hold a grudge against someone," Medvedev said, stressing the importance of restoring economic, trade and investment cooperation between Russia and Ukraine.
