Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych believes that EuroMaidan is aspiration for a better life, and the impetus for its creation was the government's decision to postpone the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU. He said this during a meeting with the candidates for the posts of District State Administrations heads, the press service of the President informs.

"When we saw such a rise in society, when they saw EuroMaidan - I said from the beginning that was not anything bad. It is people's aspiration for a better life ," he said.

As he said, some began to play on the emotions of people. "During this emotional outburst, some politicians, extremists, various provocateurs started playing on these emotions. We need to draw conclusions of all that, and we do it to prevent such cases in future," Yanukovych said. "The Lord God has given us trial test, and we have to go through it," the President said.

At the same time, he recalled that the reason for postponing the signing of the Association with the EU was the need to protect the interests and solve economic issues.
