Modernization reforms in Ukraine will continue next year, President Viktor Yanukovych said during the meeting with the candidates for the posts of District State Administrations heads, ForUm learned from President’s press service.

"We will modernize our country in all directions, which we have identified," he said.

However, according to the President, the implementation of reforms depends on funding.

Yanukovych noted that in first half of 2014 it is planned to build five perinatal centers, so their number will be increased to seventeen. The President emphasized that rates of infant and maternal mortality decreased due to opening of perinatal centers.

He also stressed that the ambulance reform will be continued as well.

"Those cars, which work today, are much better equipped, they have necessary medicines, doctors are well prepared," Yanukovych said, adding that the government is working to create incentives for future doctors.

Regarding road infrastructure, Yanukovych said that in 2014 great attention will be paid to the construction of local roads. 

The President said that funding for regional development will be increased the next year.
