Traffic police remind of criminal responsibility for blocking roads

Kyiv traffic police warn that blocking of transportation lines entails criminal responsibility.

Traffic police notes that some media cover appeals to the citizens of Ukraine to go on vehicles in the government district (Bankova Street, Luteranska Street, Hrushevsky Street, Instytutska Street, Kruhlouniversytetska Street), the press office of the police says.

"It is clear that the mass drive to the city center will lead to considerable difficulties in traffic and can paralyze the further movement of the entire transport. Therefore, we recall the proponents of such appeals that under Art. 10 of the Law of Ukraine "On Police" , the police shall identify the causes and conditions contributing to commission of offenses, and take measures to eliminate them within its competence," press office statement says.

 "In addition, we remind that blocking transportation lines entails criminal responsibility in accordance with Art.279 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," press office stressed.
