The Cabinet on Dec. 18 approved the Ukrainian portion of comprehensive measures 2013-2014 pursuant to the Interstate Program of CIS Innovation and Cooperation for the period until 2020, 2013, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.
The Program is supervised by the Interstate Council on cooperation in science, technology, and innovation. Volodymyr Seminozhenko, Director of the State Agency for Science, Innovation and Informatization, was appointed Chairman of the Board.
"It is important for the Ukrainian party not just to fit in these new realities, but also to use all opportunities to deepen international cooperation in the sphere of innovation", said Seminozhenko at the Council meeting on Dec. 11 in Moscow.
The purpose of the program is effective use of innovation by CIS economies, thus promoting their competitiveness, economic growth and attracting scientific resources to production. The document was signed on Oct. 18, 2011 in St. Petersburg.
The program consists of several joint innovation projects, including aerospace and transportation systems, information and telecommunication systems, medicine and health, energy conservation and efficiency, as well as social infrastructure.
