
Members of radical groups were involved in provocations during mass protests in Kyiv, Procurator General Viktor Pshonka stated, speaking from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, the analysis of materials indicates that members of radical groups were involved in provocations, they operated under the guise of various public organizations, conducting ideological work to spread nationalism and incitement of ethnic hatred.
However, he said that he would ask the head of the SBU to allow the deputies to learn partially the materials of initiated cases on events that occurred during the mass rallies in Kyiv.
Pshonka said that in total, 40 criminal proceedings were initiated, 14 of which are investigated by the Prosecutor's Office, 26 – by the internal affairs agency and 2 cases – by the Security Service of Ukraine.
