The Ukrainian government is continuing to work on the expansion of cooperation with the European Union, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"Our government will continue as planned systematic work on European integration. Today the government is giving the green light to the signing of five agreements between the Ukrainian government and the European Union," he said, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

Azarov noted that these documents include framework agreements on support for agreements between the EU and Ukraine aimed at introducing institutional reforms as part of the Eastern Partnership program, the public-oriented program on local development, and the program on supporting Ukraine in the management of migration processes and the provision of asylums.

He also named an annual program on cooperation between the EU and Ukraine on nuclear safety, and the continuation of support for the implementation of the energy strategy for Ukraine's development, which envisages the reduction of environmental pollution.
