Ukraine confirms its status as a world class grain exporter. In fact, it continues to boost supplies of grain abroad, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.

Agricultural analysts predict that Ukraine will be the second in the world after the US by grain exports in the current marketing year. And all prerequisites are in place. Thus, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, in 2013 the grain exports growth rate is significantly higher than last year.

In physical volume, Ukrainian agrarians exported 3.2 million tons of grain, which is up 24% from 2012/2013 marketing year (July 2012 - June 2013).

In particular, more wheat, corn, and oilseeds have been exported. Producers and traders succeeded to increase the supply of wheat by 14%, barley - by almost 12%, maize – by 42%, and oil - by 60%. Total exports amount to 16.4 million tons of crops.

The Ukrainian historical record yield of 63.4 million tons has become a good precondition for increasing the volume of exports this year. Of them, 29.7 million tons  is maize. The second largest harvest was registered in 2011, which is now surpassed by about 7 million tons.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, also this year a record yield of sunflower was produced - 10.6 million tons.
