The state is able to pay down its external debt by itself, as confirmed by actions taken by government this year. Talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) continue about easing down lending conditions. The current state of the economy confirms that next year the situation will remain unchanged - Ukraine will easily make scheduled payments, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.

At the round table "To the new year without debts: how Ukraine enters the New Year with an external debt" held in Kyiv, experts from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade gave the public and the media forecast for the development of the situation in Ukraine in terms of IMF cooperation.
The Fundamental conclusion is the following - Ukraine is able to pay its debts on its own. At the same time, cooperation with the IMF is a sign of stable and equal relations of the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, experts say.

"Now we see that Ukraine has paid off the main debts this year and yet we believe that we can, even without external help, pay the remaining ones," Yevhen Oliynikov, Director of the Department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, said. He also said that currently easing lending conditions is being discussed with the IMF.

Ukraine had successfully cooperated with the IMF from 2010 to 2011, until the IMF made a new requirement to increase the cost of energy for the population. As President Viktor Yanukovych previously stated, our country met all the terms of the IMF funding, except for one - increasing gas prices for the population. The president called this condition "unacceptable." Ukrainian side proposed to replace this condition and proceed with discussion, which is happening now.
