
Over a dozen ambulances are bought by the Ministry of Health with the money which has been saved from the previous tender. This strategy will allow regions to quickly receive the necessary ambulances, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.
On Monday, Dec. 16 the tender proposal opening procedure was held for the competitive tender for the purchase of additional 11 ambulances. This was made possible after completion of the original tender, whose results were announced on Nov. 4. As a result of this tender 7.964 million UAH were saved, which will be used towards a purchase of additional ambulances.
The additional ambulance package was split in three lots: Lot № 1 - one ambulance vehicle (ambulance for patients), Lot № 2 - five Type B vehicles (emergency medical care ambulance) and Lot № 3 - five Type C vehicles of (reanimobiles).
According to the Competitive Tender Committee of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the bidders have submitted all the necessary documents, and the proposed vehicles and medical equipment do meet the Ukrainian standards. The winner will be determined after the next meeting of the Committee.
An opportunity to purchase additional ambulances and improving the quality of service stems from a new the Law of Ukraine "On emergency medical care" which came into effect in 2013. The law envisions the ambulance response time standard - it's 10 minutes in the city and 20 minutes in rural areas.
