The Cabinet passed a resolution to approve the draft Law of Ukraine "On ratification of agreement between government of Ukraine and government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on air traffic", the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

Ratification of Agreement with the UK will open new opportunities for Ukrainian airlines in terms of flights in the major transport corridor of the European Union. At the same time, passengers will be provided with conditions for wide and free choice of airlines. Experts note that, in terms of international competition, there will be a reduction of price and improvement of air flight quality.

According to analysts, although Ukraine has not signed the trade association with the EU (Nov. 28, 2013, in Vilnius), it made significant progress in creating a single aviation trade and transport system, due to the signed Agreement on Common Aviation Area (CAA) or "Open Skies" between Ukraine and the European Union.

According to government analysts, the purpose of the Agreement is gradual formation of Common Aviation Area between the EU and Ukraine based on equal partnership and identical rules of air safety and air traffic control.

Also, establishment of common aviation area is one of key elements for implementation of future Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in the field of transport. In practice, it means that any European airline will be able to fly to any Ukrainian airport, as well as Ukrainian airlines will be able to fly to any European airport. Also, European airlines will have free access to Ukrainian market of air transportation, which will let our citizens use the multiple routes and high-quality service.
