Procuracy authorities of Ukraine monitor the investigation into all the criminal proceedings, opened over incidents at rallies in Kyiv by the police authorities and the Security Service of Ukraine. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka during the meeting with the delegation of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, headed by Committee President Letif Huseynov, the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) press office reports.

During the meeting, in particular, the parties touched upon the course of investigation of criminal proceedings commenced on the facts of the events taken place place in Kyiv on November 24-25, November 29-30, December 1, etc.

"Prosecutor’s offices of Ukraine investigate into three criminal cases, one of which is directly investigated by the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office," he said.

Pshonka stressed that the investigation is now carried out in three main directions.

"The investigators establish the degree of culpability, first, of the law enforcement officials, second, of the organizers of provocations and those, who carried out these provocations. Third, investigation establishes the degree of culpability of officials, who may be involved in the adoption of certain decisions, or vice versa – inaction, that led to the violation of the law and the consequences that we have today," the Prosecutor General said.

According to him, since 24 November 2013, more than 400 people have addressed the police departments because of bodily harm inflicted during the riots taking place in the center of the capital. Of them, there are 200 law enforcement officials and 18 students.
