Ukraine this year will significantly reduce the consumption of Russian gas, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at the nationwide roundtable, ForUm correspondent reports.
"There have been applied tremendous efforts to reduce consumption of Russian gas. This year Ukraine will consume 40% less of Russian gas than in 2010, about 26 billion cubic meters against 37 billion," PM said.
Azarov also reminded that a production of own gas has been intensified; contracts for shale gas exploration were signed.
