The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is ready to resume negotiations on the continuation of cooperation with Ukraine, Director of the IMF's Communications Department Gerry Rice has said, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

At a press briefing in Washington on Thursday, he said that there were no talks between Ukraine and the IMF in the past two weeks. However, the fund is ready to resume the talks and to support economic reforms in Ukraine, he said.

Rice noted that the conditions for resuming the cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF remain the same: an increase in the flexibility of the hryvnia, gradual but constant increases in energy tariffs, which should depend on the level of consumption, the revision of social benefits, budget cuts and curtailing deficit budget financing, as well as structural reforms to improve the country's business climate and support the economic growth.
