
Ukraine and Estonia have identified the basic areas for further economic and social cooperation. The announcement was made by Natalia Korolevska, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, in Tallinn – at the end of the third meeting of Interagency Ukrainian-Estonian Committee. She said that the Committee is to enhance the interaction of two countries in areas of mutual interest, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.
"Today, it is necessary to talk about the need for European integration, as well as take steps in this direction. In particular, right now, the Committee can prove its efficiency. Minutes of the meeting display the major areas of our cooperation. The range is wide – from protecting the environment to space industry," Korolevska said.
Korolevska also reported about the signing a separate Memorandum of Understanding between the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine and the Fund for Promotion of Business in Estonia.
Experts note that Ukraine and Estonia are interested in implementation of major joint economic projects. In particular, this applies to transport, investment, energy, and infrastructure. And the main task of the Ukrainian Government is to increase the available uninvolved potential through building of economic relations.
The committee meeting resulted in agreements on joint economic projects. This applies to freight route "Black Sea - Baltic Sea" (container train "ZUBR"), which will be extended to Estonia. Now, the route begins in Ukraine and ends in Lithuania. Another joint project will be implemented with industrial concern VKG, it is about development and processing of slates at Bovtysh field (Kirovograd region).
