According to Lviv regional employment service, in the 11 months of 2013, 43,600 unemployed persons were employed with assistance of the centers (of which, 342 were given newly created jobs). 3,100 vacancies are still available in regional employment service database, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.
On the average in the region, one vacancy was claimed by six registered unemployed persons (five over Ukraine). In late September, the maximum demand was observed for skilled workers with tools (21.3% of the total open vacancies), as well as trade and service employees (15.3%).
It must be noted that share of jobs with wage above the minimum (by 9.0 percentage points) was significantly increased, thus reaching 89.9% of the total number of vacancies reported by employers.
In early December 2013, the total level of unemployment in Ukraine was 1.4% of the total able-bodied population (over 22 million). In absolute terms, in October, the number of officially registered unemployed amounted to 394,600. And the number of unemployed receiving the benefits was 305,500. Also, in October, the average size of the benefits was 1,159 UAH.
Experts note that, in 2010, official unemployment rate in Ukraine was 2% (544,900 people), in 2011 – 2%, and in 2012 – 1.8%.
