Political instability reduces Ukraine’s chances of getting the right to hold Winter Olympics in 2022.
This was stated by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at the meeting of the Organizing Committee on preparation and participation of Ukrainian athletes in the Olympic, Junior Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games, World University Games, World and European Championships, the Cabinet’s press office reports.
"Political instability in Ukraine reduces our chances of successful completion of the qualifying round," Azarov said.
He stressed that the sooner this situation is normalized, the higher chances we have.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Olympics -2022 in Lviv would activate the development of sports infrastructure in the region.
According to him, to solve this problem it will be necessary to direct sufficient investments in the infrastructure development.
