One of the 22 agreements signed by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych during his visit to Beijing involves attracting 15 billion USD of loan funds for mortgage lending, First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov has said, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

"The most interesting thing is a joint mortgage lending in the amount of 15 billion USD for 15 years. I think this is an unparalleled agreement. This is unprecedented since independence, now that sort of money - as a joint project between the two states - will be attracted to address one of the most important issues in this country. We will complete the unfinished construction left in Ukraine today, and resolve this issue," Arbuzov said.

Arbuzov also pointed out that an agreement was signed to provide 3 billion USD for energy projects and 3 billion USD more for developing irrigation systems in Ukraine.

"They are the key agreements, which will soon give an opportunity to have investment in this country. These programs have been worked out for over a year. And I am very glad that they have been signed. In the nearest future we will inform the public about what is going on," the first deputy prime minister said.

Experts consider joint projects of Kiev and Beijing in improving energy conservation and efficiency of Ukrainian energy companies to be the main directions for the Chinese investments in the Ukrainian energy sector (3 billion USD). The parties also intend to develop projects related to renewable energy.
