A way out of the current situation in Ukraine should be looked for in the Parliament, member of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction Ivan Popesku said at the rally "Let’s build Europe in Ukraine".
Lawmaker recalled that at the time when Ukraine was at crossroads and a decision on the independence of the state should have been made, namely the Verkhovna Rada adopted the decision on independence, and people confirmed it on the referendum. The Constitution was also adopted by the Parliament, though then-MPs had different points of view. In years 2004 and 2007, when there was a confrontation, the Verkhovna Rada also adopted the decisions.
"I am sure that today also all decisions should be made in the Verkhovna Rada, not in mass rallies," the politician said.
