Phased implementation of the roadmap should lead to signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in the near future, first deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov said during a meeting with foreign minister of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski, foreign minister of Sweden Carl Bildt, U.S. assistant secretary Victoria Nuland and deputy secretary general for political affairs Helga Schmid, arrived in Kyiv to participate in the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.

Arbuzov assured that the European integration remains a strategic choice of Ukraine.

He stressed that the European integration involves opening of the European and world markets for the Ukrainian economy and also links the development of Ukraine in the coming years to the European values and criteria.

The first deputy Prime Minister said that the current stage of Ukraine's relations with the EU should be accompanied by intense negotiations in order to sign the roadmap, the phased implementation of which should lead to signing in the near future of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

The European politicians reaffirmed their readiness to hold such negotiations. But they expressed concern over the political situation in Ukraine. In particular, they stood for negotiations with the opposition to find ways out of this situation. Arbuzov assured that the government is ready to seek a compromise.
