"Naftogaz Ukraine" and Russian "Gazprom" have agreed to defer payment for gas supplied to Ukrainian consumers in October-December until next spring, Naftogaz Chief Yevhen Bakulin said.
Bakulin noted that Ukraine needed such a delay not to aggravate problematic issues in the regions with gas payments.

"We and "Gazprom" have developed a preliminary agreement. However, there are some questions, which still need settlement. They relate to loans, which we have, and the guarantees offered by the government," Bakulin said.

Moreover, he specified that Naftogaz debt to Gazprom makes $765 million for gas, pumped in August, but it will be paid off in the short term.

Naftogaz CEO informed that the government planned to settle the issue by December 7, but due to mass protests and blocking of the Cabinet, the work has been suspended. "In this respect, we have appealed to Gazprom to understand the situation and not to do any drastic actions," Bakulin said.
