Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has apologized for actions of the Berkut special forces during the dispersal of the rally in Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square on November 30, he said, speaking in the Parliament, ForUm correspondent reports. 

"On behalf of the government I want to apologize for the actions of law enforcement agencies. Both the President and the government deeply regret what happened. I guarantee that a thorough investigation is now being carried out. And all those who are guilty of the use of force will be punished. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday the law enforcement agencies did not use force to maintain a public order," Azarov said.

According to him, during the storming of the Presidential Administration building the Berkut special forces were deprived of all means of influence and were given strict instructions not to use force.
