Ukraine is one of the three countries in the world with the largest prospects for substantial increase of agricultural production. Therefore, in the next five years our country will be able to significantly expand the geography of agricultural products’ export, particularly to the Middle and Far East, the Gulf countries and the European Union. This was announced by Mykola Prysiazhniuk, Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.

According to the UN data in the years to come, three countries will be able to dynamically increase the volume of agricultural production: Ukraine, Russia and Brazil. In Brazil, the production is growing due to the tropical deforestation, which is not perceived favorably by environmentalists and the global community. For Russia, despite the considerable agricultural potential, the main goal at this stage is to overcome the dependence on imports and the saturation of the domestic market.

Ukraine remains the most promising for the international market.

Domestic producers can get new markets only due to the increase of production volumes. Analysts predict that in the near future the EU will be forced to reduce support of its farmers because the budget will not be able to cope with the load. This measure will reduce the production, which will promote greater openness of European markets for Ukrainian producers. Logistical integration of Ukraine into the EU transport corridors will also become an important factor.

The government has already enhanced the efforts to reconstruct a series of line and port elevators, it is also planned to build portside elevator at  Illichovsk. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy expects the development of the state river fleet to become an important element of the national logistics infrastructure improvements.
