As part of social policy and the signed UN Convention on Rights of Disabled and Handicapped, the government has been consistently and systematically introducing the inclusive education in Ukraine, while taking the best European models of teaching the children with disabilities, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.

Dnipropetrovsk region, which has 62 operating preschools and secondary schools, where 136 children with disabilities are being trained, has become a leader of inclusive education. Also, 624 educational institutions of the region were equipped with ramps for students with special needs.
Meanwhile, there is an ongoing innovative project "Regional e-school." This is an online school for children with special needs who are homeschooled because of their disabilities.

It must be noted that introduction of inclusive education is a part of National Program for Implementation of Convention on Rights of Disabled and Handicapped 2020. Within this national project ensuring the realization of rights and meeting of needs for persons with disabilities – on equal basis with other citizens of Ukraine – the government will allocate over 14 billion UAH till 2020.

Experts note that, to date, the project involved 1,5000 of the best teachers in the region, who develop the training materials and render educational and psychological consulting. Website of the Internet school posted 518 lessons and training courses for free access.

Also, according to government experts, the only Ukrainian department of "correctional pedagogics" (training the high-quality teachers and psychologists in work with children having special needs) is based at Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Education.
