The General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine began investigating all circumstances of the events in the Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square in Kyiv during the night of November 30, 2013.

In particular, this issue was discussed at a meeting chaired by prosecutor general Viktor Pshonka with participation of the Internal Minister, chairman of the Security Services, the deputy prosecutor general and the heads of the individual structural units of the GPO, ForUm learned from the GPO press office.

Pshonka stressed that peaceful protest cannot have such end. "So, guilty people of the night's events will be necessarily found," he said.

"It was people’s constitutional right to stay in Maidan, and the task of law enforcement agencies was primarily to ensure the realization of this right," the GPO head said.
