Ukraine has a sufficient amount of drugs for HIV-positive people, director of the Ukrainian AIDS Centre Nataliya Nizova told a press briefing today, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Ukraine has a sufficient amount of medicines for HIV-positive people," she said.
In recent years, Ukraine has increased four-fold the HIV treatment coverage, and according to a new nationwide program, which is under Parliament’s consideration, by 2018 it will provide the antiretroviral therapy (ART) coverage up to 118 thousand HIV-infected people.
At the moment, 92% of HIV-infected people are treated in Ukraine at the expense of state funds.
