Cabinet takes Euro pause because of economists’ conclusions

The Cabinet of Ministers took "a Euro pause" having considered conclusions of the economists, agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk said during the meeting of the public council under the Ministry, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Many people ask: "Why did the Cabinet of Ministers decide to cancel its September decision (approval of the Association Agreement with the EU- Ed.)?" The government took such a decision because during this time our economic universities, independent economists, the Academy of Sciences, international economists gave their forecasts. Thereafter, the Cabinet of Ministers considered them and made the right decision. It is the National Security and Defense Council, which should take a global decision on the country's security, including economic security. We suspended our powers and transferred them to the Council, as it touches upon the global aspects, including foreign policy, security and integrity of the country," Prysiazhniuk said.
