Ukraine should not choose only one foreign partner: the European Union or the Customs Union, MP from the Party of Regions faction Andriy Pinchuk said during the public forum "Eurasian Economic Integration: achievements and problems", ForUm correspondent reports from Kazan.
"Both partners have powerful economic and cultural ties with Ukraine. Ukraine has a geographical position between Europe to Asia. It should take advantage of this opportunity. Ukraine should combine the efforts of both sides," Pinchuk said.
He recalled that Russia itself declares that it plans strategic partnership with the EU.
The politician added that all so-called "EU laws" were passed not for the sake of the EU, but for the sake of development of Ukraine itself. "This is a big mistake to think that we were doing something for Europe. We did it for the implementation of European standards and values. However, we do not share all the EU values. Nothing has been done in vain," Pinchuk said.
