Ukraine may become a bridge between Europe and the Eurasian Union, member of the Presidium of the General Council of "United Russia" Andrey Klimov expressed such opinion during the public forum "Eurasian Economic Integration: achievements and problems", ForUm correspondent reports from Kazan.
"We explain Kyiv and Brussels that we do not want adventures, we agree to move closer under a certain schedule, but not as it is proposed today. We read the documentation relating to the "Eastern Partnership", which says that "Eastern partnership" does not imply that countries will become members of the EU. The Eastern partnership countries are perceived as countries in North Africa. But we do not want to stop on the EU, where growth rates are not the highest. The BRICS countries are more developed than the EU ones," Klimov said.
According to him, the BRICS countries have expressed their readiness to cooperate with the Eurasian Union.
"Ukraine becomes a bridge between Europe and the Eurasian Union, and it has many possibilities, and it may have lots of benefits. But Ukraine should move towards Europe in a coordinated manner with its east neighbors. The Party of Regions understood it very well, that’s why it made right decision not to hurry up," he said.
