In October, wage arrears decreased by 3.5%, social policy minister Natalia Korolevska told a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
"This is certainly problematic area. In October, wage arrears decreased by 3.5%, and as of November 1, it was 989 million UAH. However, new debts arise today along with reduction of old debts. Since the beginning of the year, new debts in the amount of 294 million UAH have appeared," she said.
According to Korolevska, this issue includes a very large economic component, as a number of businesses were forced to suspend their work. This situation was observed in the Zaporizhya and Chernihiv regions.
"We will solve this situation. We appealed to the Finance Ministry to address this issue immediately. We will do everything to eliminate completely these debts till December," the minister said.
