First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov spoke with students of the Kyiv National Economic University about the European integration process and the prospects of development of the national economy.

The meeting with Arbuzov was attended by more than 200 students. Young people were interested in Ukraine’s foreign policy events. Responding to their questions, the first deputy Prime Minister explained that the government was forced to take the recent decision to calculate all economic risks and to join the EU as a full partner.

He noted that at this moment Ukraine has fulfilled most requirements of the EU, has started implementing most of reforms that will bring our economy closer to the European standards. However, it takes time to complete the reforms.

"We just do not have enough time to modernize the production in key sectors of the economy. We see that investors and new technologies come to Ukraine. But we need time. We can not start the association being unprepared. We must protect our economy," the first deputy Prime Minister said.
