According to the statements of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the most important task for the government today is securing social benefits, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.
The experts emphasize that the ministry takes all necessary steps to ensure timely payment of wages for employees of public sector, coal enterprises, covering costs of social security fund, payment for sick leaves, assisting families with children.
From 18 to 22 November 2013 the Treasury of Ukraine made social payments amounting to 7.92 billion UAH.
Economic analysts say despite the difficulties with budget revenues caused by the global economic crisis and associated reduction of demand for Ukrainian products abroad, the government will be able to ensure prompt payment for secured budget items.
This can be done with a coordinated effort of central and local authorities. All the available financial resources should be used to pay for the items secured by the state and local budgets as a matter of priority.
Analysts also note President Viktor Yanukovych's instructions to government to repay all public sector wage arrears by end of 2013. They also note that the government has approved the schedule for eliminating delays with paying public sector employee wages and social benefits, and in October allocated for these purposes an additional 2.1 billion UAH.
