Ukraine intends to further reduce the amount of purchased Russian gas, President Viktor Yanukovych said in an interview with Ukrainian TV channels.
"It is unprofitable for us to buy gas at such a price. We will do everything possible to reduce the amount of purchased gas," the President said.
He stressed that prospects for the further reductions of gas purchases from Russia are real.
The Head of State noted that currently the maximum price of gas for Ukraine should become the price of $300 instead of $510.
