Cooperation with the European Commission in the field of regional development aimed at strengthening inter-regional ties between Ukraine and the EU. This was announced by deputy minister for regional development, housing and communal services Dmytro Isaenko at the international forum "Regional Development and State Regional Policy in Ukraine", ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, cooperation among regions of Ukraine and EU regions was strengthened in 2009 with the signing of the memorandum of understanding to establish a dialogue on regional policy.
"This was a landmark event in terms of regional development policy in our country. Ukraine was the first state of the "Eastern Partnership", which signed a memorandum of this format. Such cooperation offers great opportunities in establishing effective cooperation with EU regions, greater representation of domestic regions in the European economic and social space, increase in their investment attractiveness for Europe," the official said.
