The State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine (Gosinvestproekt) and Doppelmayr Seibahnen GmbH, leading global manufacturer of winter sports infrastructure equipment have signed the Protocol of Intent in Vienna on Nov. 21, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.
The signing of the protocol will ensure beneficial and flexible terms of cooperation and modern construction technologies for Ukrainian companies involved in winter tourism.
Experts say the main objective of the project is to increase overall attractiveness of Ukraine for tourists and develop sports infrastructure of facilities located in Lviv and Transcarpathian regions. The document also envisions implementation of activities necessary for submittal of an application to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2014.
According to experts, under the IOC requirements the project aims to develop the Olympic infrastructure and construct tourism facilities using investment funds, new positioning of the tourist attractiveness of Ukraine.
The sports infrastructure in the Lviv region, transport infrastructure, including airports, highways, infrastructure placement, including the Olympic villages, and an international media center will be built in 2014-2021.
The national project Olympic Hope 2022 will be funded by private investors (30% of the investment) and from the state budget.
