Service for the dead is ministered near the Memorial to the Holodomor victims. Representatives of Ukrainian churches pray in memory of those, who died of starvation in 1932-33, ForUm correspondent reports.
The service is attended by participants of a mourning procession, representatives of the Ukrainian Cossacks and ordinary Ukrainians.
It is worth noting that many participants of memorial events came to Kyiv from other regions of Ukraine. In parallel with prayers, thousands of candles are being lit at the slopes around the memorial.
At 4.00 p.m., a national moment of silence will be declared throughout Ukraine.
