The Kyiv City State Administration reports that the District Administrative Court of Kyiv ruled to ban installing of tents, booths or shelters, including mobile and temporary ones, during peaceful mass demonstrations on 22 November 2013 - 7 January 2014.

As the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reports, the restriction concerns the Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square, the Yevropeiska Square and the Khreschatyk Street.

The KCSA stressed that the court's ruling in no way prohibits holding of peaceful mass demonstrations.

"However, the installation of tents, kiosks and other small architectural forms by the participants of mass actions will prevent the preparation and implementation of the activities for the New Year and Christmas celebrations," the statement says.

The works on the installation of the Christmas tree and the preparatory works for the installation of the New Year and Christmas village have been already started in Kyiv center.

In evening of November 21, at the Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square, opposition supporters held a rally against the refusal of the Ukrainian authorities to sign the Association Agreement with the EU.
