Yanukovych: Issue of Tymoshenko to be solved at legislative level

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych says that the issue of ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko should be solved at the legislative level. 

"This is a very extensive question. The release of Mrs. Tymoshenko should be done at legislative level," Yanukovych said at a joint press conference with President of Austria Heinz Fischer in Vienna, answering journalist’s question about release of Yulia Tymoshenko.

According to him, Ukraine is a democratic country and it should obey the laws and respect justice.

"So, the issue of Tymoshenko is very controversial. Tymoshenko has repeatedly confronted with violations of laws at different times," Yanukovych said, adding that the criminal cases, which are considered today, are not new and were initiated not by the current government.
