As of Nov. 14, the State Agency of Land Resources of Ukraine conducted an inventory of 920,700 hectares of state-owned agricultural land. By the end of 2013, the agency plans to inventory 1.69 million hectares of land. The state budget has allocated 202.7 million UAH for this purpose, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

"The industry has never had such a high level of funding, so we must complete the planned land inventory on a clear schedule and in a professional manner," Serhiy Timchenko, Head of State Agency of Land Resources, said.

Experts emphasize that the State Agency aims to complete the database of the State Land Cadastre, whose operation will expedite the land reform in the country and help restore order in the area of land relations. In addition, the inventory will increase revenues to local budgets from the lease of land by 2-2.5 times.

"The time is near when each land plot in Ukraine will have own inventory number and each facility will be accounted for by the state," Timchenko said.

Experts say this initiative is also related to the need to transfer the state owned agricultural land to the charter capital of the State Land Bank established by the government in 2012.
