
A meeting of the working group on developing bill on treatment of prisoners abroad was adjourned for a meeting of the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement, ForUm correspondent reports.
It should be noted that representatives of the monitoring mission former head of the European Parliament Pat Cox and former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski left the room, where the meeting took place.
During one hour the deputies managed to agree that the bill will include a provision that if a convicted person commits a crime on the territory of Ukraine during a break for treatment, the court will impose punishment according to articles № 71, № 72 of the Criminal Code. If a person leaves the country and commits a crime abroad, the court will cancel his treatment "vacation".
The working group members agreed that a prisoner being on treatment abroad should inform the penal service on his treatment and substantiate the information by medical certificates.
