About 20 thousand citizens of Ukraine have been banned from entering Russia for a period of three years for violations of the Russian law. This was stated by chief of the Federal Migration Service of Russia Konstantin Romodanovskiy.

"We have closed the entrance to 365 thousand foreign citizens in Russia for a period of three years. This figure is rather serious and it shows that rules must be obeyed. We do not do anything unexpected," Romodanovskiy said.

Responding to a question, how many citizens of Ukraine are among the total number of foreigners, who are denied entry, he said that their number is around 5-6%.

Romodanovskiy stressed that every foreigner knows how long he was in the territory of the Russian Federation, and if he stayed in Russia for more than 120 days, he could count on the potential closure of entry into the country for a period of three years.

Romodanovskiy said that the foreigners, who twice a year violated the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation, have been also banned from entry. According to him, the reason for the prohibition is unpaid administrative penalties.
