For ten months of this year, Ukraine has exported agricultural products worth $13.5 billion. This figure would increase significantly after signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union, agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine  Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a round table "Agricultural sector of Ukraine on the path of European integration".

"Every year, export of Ukrainian agricultural products in the EU is growing. I would like to note that this year Ukraine has become the leader among wheat exporters to the European market. The signing of the agreement will significantly expand access of Ukrainian goods to Europe. So, after the entry into force of this document, the EU immediately cancels import duties on 83% of agricultural production," Prysiazhniuk said.

According to the minister, Ukrainian farmers will get the opportunity to export to one of the world largest and the most solvent markets.

Prysiazhniuk also added that Ukraine has maximally adapted approaches to formation of the agricultural policy to European standards.

"Main provisions of the Ukrainian agricultural sector development strategy up to 2020 are in line with the EU Common Agricultural Policy for 2014-2020. Common are the priority of rural development, improving the competitiveness of farmers and provision of products’ security. In addition, Ukraine will stimulate the development of partnerships with processors. The most important thing is that the priority will be given to farming support," the minister said.
