The decision regarding the treatment of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko abroad should be made solely at the legislative level, even if this decision is a political one. This was announced by Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka at a press conference in Kyiv today.

According to him, there is no world country having the law on the treatment of prisoners abroad. Ukraine became the first in adoption of such a law.

"Search for compromises must be made exclusively within the law," Pshonka said.

Continuing the topic, Pshonka said that the law should be developed not for one person. "If this law is for one person, in my opinion, it violates the Constitution of Ukraine. The law should be for everyone. This is equality for all," the Prosecutor General said.

He added that such a law should specify the issue of responsibility of the country, where the convict will be sent to, in particular, responsibility for the treatment and for the return of the prisoner.
