Ukrainian medicine has achieved internationally recognized results in treatment of infantile cerebral paralysis (ICP). This was reported by Raisa Bogatyryova, Health Minister of Ukraine, who visited the Vladimir Kozyavkin International Rehabilitation Clinic in Truskavets, Lviv Region, where she learned about the latest treatment methods for cerebral palsy, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

“Today we had the opportunity to talk with the patients who feel tremendous progress in improving their health just after the first treatment course,” Bogatyryova said. “And the only thing I was asked by the parents of those young patients was a complex state support for Ukrainians who have health problems.”

Health Ministry experts say over 50,000 patients with ICP, osteochondrosis, trauma after-effects, and organic nervous system afflictions have already been treated and rehabilitated using the highly efficient technique. Among them there are patients from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the USA and many other countries. The Kozyavkin method is among the four most efficient conservative treatments for infantile cerebral paralysis in the world. According to experts, technique and efficacy of the follow-up care in the International Rehabilitation Clinic are unique in Europe and America.

The successful experience of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist and doctor will be used in many medical centers in Ukraine. In 2013, the government decided to establish five rehabilitation centers to treat cerebral palsy and other diseases in children and adults in Ukraine. Analysts at the Ministry of Health emphasize fact that these centers will not only bring back health for ICP children, but adult Ukrainians who were injured at the places of production, in mines, or as a result of road accidents.
