November 18, the EU Council did not take any decision on the possible signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine, but expressed willingness to take it at any time up to the summit in Vilnius, in case the necessary conditions were fulfilled by Kyiv. Foreign minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius announced this on Monday in Brussels.
"I think it was predictable that we would not take any decision, as I had said before the meeting. I can confirm that no decision is taken. The doors are open," the chief of Lithuania's diplomacy noted.
According to him, all the branches of European institutions are involved in the process towards the signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine.
"The Cox-Kwasniewski mission returns to Ukraine. President of the European Commission will send his representative as well- so we continue to talk with the Ukrainians," Lithuanian minister listed the efforts of the European side.
Linkevičius stated that the Ukrainians "should fulfill the necessary conditions, and they have promised to do so".
