Ukraine, Azerbaijan agree on cooperation for the following years

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev have signed the Protocol of the IV Session of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and the Republic of Azerbaijan which lays down the results of the discussion of the main issues of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani bilateral relations agenda.

According to the President’s press office, the document specifies the conditions and prospects of political dialogue development, cooperation in trade-economic, fuel and energy spheres, as well as the arrangements achieved following the session of the Council of Presidents.

In addition, bilateral documents have been signed in presence of the Heads of State.

In particular, there was signed the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Cooperation in the Sphere of Plant Protection and Quarantine/ It is aimed at facilitation of mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of quarantine and protection of plants, coordination of state phytosanitary measures, mutual assistance in the given sphere and exchange of rules and regulations of respective quarantine measures.

The Plan of Holding Consultations on Topical Issues of Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan contains the list of measures between Ukraine and Azerbaijan for 2014-2015.

In addition, the Protocol between Rivne Regional State Administration of Ukraine and the Executive Office of Gabala District of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Cooperation in Economic and Socio-Cultural Spheres was signed. It is aimed at the development of cooperation between enterprises, scientific and educational institutions, state and private organizations of respective regions in the spheres of industry, trade, agriculture, transport, science and engineering, education, tourism and sports, environment and rational use of natural resources.

The President’s press office also informs of signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine and the Scientific Methodical Center of Cultural Studies of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
