European Centre for Nuclear Research, Ukraine deepen cooperation

The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is making significant efforts to increase the international scientific and technological cooperation, which is one of the most effective and efficient means of integration of Ukraine into the European and global economic and technological space, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

For a more profound scientific and technical integration into the European scientific community, the NAS and the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) have extended the comprehensive program of scientific cooperation "Advanced Fundamental Research on High Energy Physics and Nuclear Physics" through 2015. The previous target program that was implemented in 2012-2013, demonstrated efficient interaction between the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and CERN.

Experts point out that the cooperation of the NAS of Ukraine and CERN allows domestic research institutions and enterprises to participate in international tenders and get orders for various projects in the field of modern applied physics, to participate in the creation of new materials, and it gives an opportunity to develop research in the field of nuclear medicine and nanotechnology.

But most importantly, analysts say Ukrainian experts will continue to be involved with the Large Hadron Collider project, which is a unique opportunity for our scientists to work at the forefront of experimental high energy physics.
