"Having halted gas imports from Russia in November, Ukraine may use gas from underground storages for supplies to the domestic market. This may jeopardize the subsequent transit to Europe," chief of the "Gazprom" department Pavlo Oderov said.

"We see quite alarming trends related to the fact that withdrawal of natural gas from Russia by Ukraine fell in November. Apparently, the domestic market is provided with gas of domestic production and gas from the storage facilities, which could potentially have a negative impact on the transit of Russian gas," Oderov said during a conference call.

He stressed that Ukrainian underground storage facilities should be used to ensure the smooth transit through the territory of Ukraine.
