President Viktor Yanukovych believes that the bill on departure of convicts for treatment abroad must apply to all citizens of Ukraine, he told reporters in Zaporizhzhya.

"Next week (November19-22) will be plenary, we'll see the results of it. Today, this issue is discussed in Parliament. I have said many times that if this law is passed, and the Parliament supports it, then I'll sign it," he said.

The head of state noted that he spent a lot of consultation, and the general position was that the bill must apply to all citizens of Ukraine, not personally to former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

The President noted that Parliament’s working group is working on this bill and should take a consensus decision.

In addition, the President believes that the bill should be supported by all factions of the Parliament and should include the procedure of sending a prisoner for treatment abroad.

In this case, Yanukovych said that the bill should not have the opportunity to avoid criminal responsibility.
