Appeal of Ukraine to the World Trade Organization (WTO) with the request to help resolve disputable trade issues with Russia may not help, as when Russia had joined the organization, it managed to achieve higher protective duties.
"Russia is increasingly fencing itself off from the Ukrainian goods with protective duties that they have in accordance with the terms of accession to the WTO. Their duties are almost twice higher than we have," Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to PM, in this case, the appeal on the WTO mediation may not help.
